Dave was born to a lower middle class family in Washington, DC on January 1, 1940. He was educated in Catholic schools from primary through high school and a mix of colleges and universities. He is a retired federal employee with 31 years of service. He actually worked about 40 years attending to the federal government if you count the 9 years spent as a consultant working mainly Navy projects. He entered the civilian federal service in 1971 when he joined the Department of Labor as a computer systems analyst, Dave made his last federal government employment stop at the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission also as a Supervisory Computer Specialist. After this lengthily tour of federal service, he just had to write about his experiences. So here is the result of during these turbulent times of social and economic unrest, I just could not help myself. I just needed to write a book on this subject. I began thinking just how much of the current governmental structure is really mine? The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt. I started thinking about all levels of governing bodies. Then my mind switched to when President Abraham Lincoln stated at the end of his Gettysburg Address "that government: of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth." That seemed to sum up to me why we have governing bodies in whatever form we choose. But do our governing bodies fulfill this definition was the question that is bugging me.
