Why I Stand

I know firsthand the many sacrifices of war. You get to see men of different skin colors and of all creeds stand side by side, fighting the enemy. Many sounds, sights and smells are etched into your brain-never to be forgotten. Today you will find veterans standing for our Flag and the National Anthem, filled with such pride every time they see it. We fought to give American's the right to stand, sit, or kneel for the flag. This America's most prestige treasure it should never be disrespected. If it weren't for the men and women in our military ready to give their lives for the flag-who then. Regret I have no regret. I belong to a group of men and women who I love and respect so much. We are the largest alum you will find. Harvard, Yale, Stanford, etc. have nothing on us. We are the graduates of the college of Hard Knocks-and proud of it. I wrote this book for those who give all. Served with the 554th Engr. Chu Chi, Vietnam (Front Cover - Bob Green pointing at David Paul Roy his hometown friend. Killed in Vietnam April 4, 1970)
