With detailed knowledge of the structure and function of the skin, as well as the regulation of metabolic processes, there is an increasing merging of biological processes with pharmacological-therapeutic manipulations. Despite these positive developments, dermatopharmacy needs enthusiastic, engaged persons with a broad range of ideas, who will work out the basic scientific foundation, design the practical relationships and lead in the conception of an effective, marketable product.
