Since then, however, the industry has witnessed a considerable change. The advice and recommendations which it contained have become, to a large measure, obsolete and consequently its value to the grower and general public has disappeared. Although it is now out of print requests for it are being received constantly and a complete revision, therefore, was deemed advisable.In the present bulletin an attempt is made to deal with the more important phases of tobacco production. Such subjects as types of seed-beds, cultural practices, methods of harvesting and curing, diseases and insects are discussed in a simple manner. No attempt is made to deal exhaustively with these or related problems.
