Theological and Religious Reference Materials
BücherAngebote / Angebote:
?The Gorman's bibliography is unique because it attempts to list and annotate the full range of reference materials likely to be found in an academic library in the field of practical theology. Unlike most, it is not limited to titles recently published or of recognized superiority. The audience is students, scholars, and clergy. Subjects covered under practical theology are liturgy and worship, art and architecture, music, homiletics, education, counseling, and sociology. The 1, 873 entries are grouped under these subjects, but are numbered consecutively. Title, author, and subject indexes are also provided. No periodical articles are included, but all other possibilities are: bibliographies, indexes, abstracts, encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, manuals, textbooks, and surveys. The scope is both international and interdenominational, including all Western European languages and all traditions. The author's backgrounds in both religious studies and library science are reflected in the thorough annotations, and in their obvious familiarity with the sources. Recommended for academic libraries to assist patrons who are beginning independent research, and as a selection tool for collection development.?-Choice
