The contents of this volume are by a former Greco-Roman philosopher, whose conversation to the truth of Christianity changed the world. Clement of Alexandria wrote about one century prior the council of Nicaea, being active during the age of the middle early Christian Church. Clement is best understood through his writings themselves. This volume contains all of Clement of Alexandria's surviving works except for the Stromata, which is published in a separate volume.
