Excerpt from The Registers of Dewsbury, Yorkshire, Vol. 1: 1538 to 1653
I am responsible for the transcript of the first volume, and for comparing the proof sheets of the first and second volumes with the originals. I also compared the proof sheets of the third volume of the Registers with the transcript. The second and third volumes were transcribed by Miss pattie osler at the British Museum, where they were under the care of Mr. J. P. Anderson until they were copied, and the transcript of the third volume, which in parts is much faded, was compared with the original by Mr. W. Paley baildon.
