D., Bishop of New Jersey: Upon a Presentment Made by the Rt. Rev. William Meade, D. D., Bishop of Virginia, the Rt. Rev. Charles Pettit McIlvaine, D. D., Bishop of Ohio, and the Rt. Rev. George Burgess, D. D., Bishop of Maine The Meeting was opened by Morning Prayer, conducted by the Bishop of Vermont. At the conclusion of Morning Prayer all persons present, with the exception of the Bishops, retired. On motion of the Bishop of Maryland, the Bishop of Vermont (being the Senior Bishop present) was called to the chair. On motion, the Bishop of Florida was requested to act as Secre tary, pro tempore. The Bishops then went into an election by ballot for President of the Court, which resulted in the election of the Bishop of Vermont.
