That was college life as the lawyer's clerk remembered it. His desk looked out on a weary, dingy air shaft, where the sunbeams were as bedraggled as his prospects, his mind could seldom rise above contracts and incorporeal hereditaments and it is not strange if it sometimes strayed back to Spring of Senior year and the old crowd. From the ends of the earth they were coming back for Triennial, and the lawyers clerk threw his last attempt at a brief down the air shaft and went to join them.
