I have endeavored to avoid this objection, and to present such exercises as are especially suited to be committed to memory and spoken by the young.Many of these exercises, some without names of authors, and others with various names appended, are now for the first time published. They include several of the translations from French and German writers, and, being original, are protected by the copyright.
