Excerpt from The McMaster University Monthly, Vol. 26: October, 1916, to May, 1917Thus the university degree undoubtedly satisfies one of the needs of modern life. If they possess no deeper significance than that of mere finery, they are Of very little value, and might profitably be discarded. But if they have sufficient meaning to be retained in use, it is surely worth while to understand it, and to regulate this use with such care as to make their symbolism intelligible.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
