Excerpt from The Law of Musical and Dramatic CopyrightIt would be going beyond the limits of this work to trace in detail the development of the law of Copyright from its origin in the seventeenth century, whereas our book is only intended to deal with more recent subject-matter, viz.: the rights of dramatic authors and composers, home and inter national. Those rights are defined by a series of enactments commencing with a statute of William the Fourth, passed in the year 1833. But as questions turning on the law of musical and dramatic Copyright will be more readily under stood by persons who have some acquaintance with the previous law, a short account of that law is given in this Introduction.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
