The paper of Dan latabad and Kashmir is good to write upon, and of excellent quality, but it does not equal that of Ahmadabad in whiteness and purity of material. There are several sorts of this made. When the place of manufacture is in a sandy part of the country, during the process of manufacture particles of sand get into the pulp, these come out while the paper is being burnished, and damage it by making (almost) imperceptible holes in it. In consequence of its whiteness, much is sent, as paper ornamented with gold, * to different parts of India, to Arabia, Turkey, and elsewhere.
