W., New Series, Sheet 1The area described in the following pages occupies a small triangular Space of about 23 square miles, on the northern border of N orthumberland, between Norham and Tweedmouth, which is contained in Sheet 110 of the Geological Survey Map of England and W'ales. It was surveyed in the year 1880 by Mr. W. Gunn, under the supervision of Mr. H. H. Howell, at that time District Surveyor in the Geological Survey of England and Wales.
