The Bergman-Schuour DestinyBy: Ralph L Myers The Bergman-Schuour Destiny is a historical fiction story about two families, the Bergmans, a Jewish family, and the Schuours, an aristocratic Prussian/German family. The story traces back to the ancestry of poor Jewish as they were expelled from the Ukraine and then other eastern European countries. The story's timeline is from the 1800s through both world wars and later. The same is true for the German family. As time and fate would have it, the two families' lives become intertwined as they struggle to escape antisemitism violence, wars, and the Nazi regime. About the AuthorWhile serving in the U.S. Army in Germany at the height of the Cold War (1960-1963) as a member of the Army Security Agency, Ralph's interest piqued by the history of the Second World War and the Holocaust. In addition, Ralph has written and published two other historical fiction novels, Kriegsmarine and The Bergman Justice, dealing with events leading up to the First and Second world wars.Ralph began his writing career in 1993, after the murder of his then 25-year-old son, Tom. At first, he wrote poems as he coped with the tragic loss of his son. Later, as an outlet for his grief, he continued to write about experiences he and his family had while traveling through the American Criminal Justice System and has a soon-to-be-released bio called Beneath the Law, a crime victim's plight in the American criminal justice system. Ralph also became active as a Victims Rights Advocate and leader of a grief support group, Parents of Murdered Children, based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has served on the board of directors for Justice for Homicide Victims and The Nicole Parker Foundation. Ralph was married for 49 years to Francine Myers and has two children, a son and daughter, the son being the murdered child. Sadly, his wife, Francine, died in 2015 because of pancreatic cancer. If you ask Ralph, he will unhesitatingly say the three happiest days of his life were his marriage to Francine and the birth of his two children. He is a proud veteran, serving his country in the U.S. Army, and his love and devotion to the Lord as a member of the Mt. Baker Church of Christ.
