Symbiotic compatibility of mycorrhizal fungi with exotic plant species

Angebote / Angebote:

The effect of biological invasion on symbiotic compatibility of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) species and exotic plant species was investigated in several sites around Brazilian semi-arid. Two AMF community come from exotic (Prosopis juliflora, Parkinsonia aculeata and Sesbania virgata) and native (Mimosa tenuiflora and Copernicia prunifera) plant species were used to inoculate seedlings of exotic plant species from Paraíba and Ceará, Brazil. We also assessed AMF community structure, AMF diversity, and soil chemical properties from these areas. The exotic plant species changed soil organic carbon, total nitrogen, available phosphorous, and soil pH in the invaded areas. These changes may alter AMF diversity, number of spores and root colonization in field conditions. Exotic plant species promote negative effects on AMF diversity, frequency of occurrence of AMF species from Diversisporales and Gigasporales, promoting AMF species from Glomerales, especially species from genera Claroideoglomus, Funneliformis, and Rhizoglomus.
