Maynard Nelson, a gentle giant and once employed by Jack Crosley find his own way back to a better life and winds up becoming Paula's savior and husband. Mavis Didier goes out of character from being a high-powered career woman to a pathetic lovesick victim from a rocky romance with Paula's ex-boyfriend Parker Evans. She, too finds an escape.
