Sure-Kill is a fictional memoir that depicts the forces of nature and nurture that combine to create a psychopathic personality. By interweaving the past and the present, the narrative shows how a psycho killer can be created by dysfunctional parenting and peer abuse, focusing less on the actual crimes and more on the life process that forms the disturbed personality that perpetrates the killings. Through a series of flashbacks to powerful personal traumas that fuel the protagonist Paul Taylor's angry retreat from the world, these events lead him to his present homicidal state of mind. Interwoven into the plot are his ethically questionable counseling sessions with his therapist sister, who makes a strong effort to prevent his going over the edge. And throughout his life, repeated failures of the mental health system abet Paul's psychological breakdown, leading to the mounting tension as a maverick police detective enters the situation and joins with Paul's sister to try to rectify the damage Paul has already inflicted.
