Hinton is a registered nurse, and a faith community nurse educator through the International Parish Nurse Resource Center. She has a Masters Degree in parish nursing with a Masters Certificate in pastoral studies. She is also a certified journal instructor through the Center for Journal Therapy and speaks nationally about spiritual journaling, health ministry, and spiritual growth through story. Sharon is the author of the Nurse in the Church column for the Journal of Christian Nursing. Sharon lives on the family farm in rural West Texas with her husband, two teenagers, and a menagerie of dogs, cats, cows and wildlife.
