My first reading of this book caused a cataclysmic reaction. Being a divorcee, I could relate. Being in an abusive marriage twice, I wept all over again. Having children, I could comprehend. Living a Christian life, I was elated and humbled that someone I knew could be so open, honest and share these words with me. There is a silent minority of women and men who will feel exactly as I do after reading this book once, twice or three times. Those partners looking at it from the other side will probably be annoyed, troubled, confused, and perhaps even angry. But their reasons will only be because they have been exposed to the light. Those partners seeking help, on the other hand, will cherish the knowledge, the transparency and vulnerability of the situation, and grow from it. Mrs. Tommie L. Bethea Author of Angels Watching Over Me Olga Johnson Bryant was born and raised in Durham, North Carolina. She has lived in Atlanta, Georgia for over twenty years with her family. Two sons are now young adults and the youngest is middle school age. Trained as an elementary education teacher and a speech pathologist, though retired, Ms. Bryant continues to work as a speech pathologist in a metro school system. She enjoys reading, concerts, close friends and family time. Ms. Bryant is a deaconess at The One Accord Community Church and participates in other civic activities.
