They provoked searching in quiry and, at times, sharp debate. The participants agreed that the result was at least a better understand ing of each side by the other. No consensus was achieved, of course, as none was intended, but the participants ex pressed in many ways their happy conviction that another step was taken toward greater understanding and Christian brotherhood.
