·      Topic Popularity:  Separation and Divorce can be a difficult time for a family especially the children. When parents separate and or divorce, the effects of divorce on children can differ.  Kids suffer when families break apart. Close to 40% of marriages in the United States have ended in Divorce. One out of every two kids in the country will be affected.  ·      Book Relevance: Children's books about separation and divorce can help them work through the issues and difficulties. Reading books with a focus on the child can give them a way to express their emotions and discuss issues that they may not otherwise articulate and or be comfortable talking about. These books will also help parents understand their child’s experience regarding divorce. ·      Current Cultural Conversation: A recent study found that more than 50% of all divorcing parents never sit their children down and have a specific conversation with them about their divorce.
