Excerpt from Sediment Trend Study, 1973: Los Angeles River Watershed, An Analysis of the Response of Dunsmore Canyon to Check Dam TreatmentThis study was begun by the Angeles National Forest in February, 1972, in conjunction with Management Sciences Staff, of Berkeley. Bill Kennedy was the man who helped to array the data, develop the analytical procedure, and supervised the preparation of the computer programs that are used. He also spent considerable time and effort in training Angeles personnel in the use of the computer and formating of the data. The first draft of this study was written and submitted to the Forest by Bill. In the subsequent revisions and updates, the data has been refined a great deal and some supplemental work has also been done. But the basic concept and systems analysis have not changed 'much.
