These data exist in a variety of formats. Data sets may contain physical and chemical parameters (e.g. Water chemistry, meteorological conditions, etc), descriptions of natural systems (e.g seagrass beds, mangroves, etc), and population data (e.g. Abundance, distribution, and life history characteristics for ichthyoplankton, Also, descriptors of community dynamics (e. G trophic relationships, nutrient cycles, etc.) organism response to changing environmental conditions and data reflecting other complex relationships were routinely collected. These data sets may range from limited (e.g observations of species abundance over a specified time period) to large (e.g a data set containing hydrological parameters collected every minute for an indefinite period of time).
