The popularity which the work has hitherto enjoyed has nevertheless not been instrumental in preserving this small work of a great man in its original purity, for most of the lithograph ed editions in the Indian market are a poor specimen of the original work. In the present edition I have largely availed myself of an extremely rare ms. Copy in the possession of an unfortunate Muhammad an family of Upper India who value it as one of their dearest possessions to whom I am specially indebted for a free use of it.
