Excerpt from Revue Celtique, Vol. 32: Année 1911From another source we learn something more of him, and again find him in close contact with the French barons. In the year 1125, in accordance with the request of Bernard, the first Norman bishop of St. David's (1115 King Henry I transferred the church of St. Teulyddog of Garmar then, which hé had previously given to the abbey of Battle, to Bernard, for the foundation of a new house, and there consequently followed the establishment of the Augustinian church of St. John the Evangelist and St. Theuloc of Car marthen. Of this house a Chartulary once existed, but it has apparently perished. A transcript of it, or of a copy of it, was made towards the end of the 17th, or the commence ment of the 18th century, and found its way into the Hengwrt library, whence it has passed into the National Library of Wales at Aberystwyth, where it now is. Whilst in the possession of Mr. W. W. E. Wynne, of Peniarth, it was printed by Sir Thomas Phillipps of Middle Hill.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
