Excerpt from Report on Child Study Report Investigation: March, 1899, to June 23, 1899 It is believed that the pupils of this school represent normal American children. After the completion of the work in the Alcott School the Burr School was visited, where the children in the kindergarten were examined. Later, examinations were made in the Thomas Hoyne School of kindergarten pupils and of two rooms of eighth grade pupils. The Alcott School has no kindergarten. Twenty pupils in an ungraded room were also examined. With certain special cases a wider range of tests was made, chiefly with the idea of helping the teacher to a more positive knowledge of the individual pupil.
