Excerpt from Report of the Secretary Agriculture Investigations have been conducted to throw further light upon the microbe organism which causes the Texas fever. It was found that this organism was fostered in the blood of southern animals for as long, in certain cases, as twelve years or more after the removal of the animals from infected districts. It was found, however, that the animal retains its immunity three years after the disappearance of the microbe organism from its blood.
