Excerpt from Report of the Commissioner of Patents for the Year 1852: Part II-AgricultureSir: I have the honor of transmitting to you the Agricultural part of the Annual Report required by law from this Office.It would have been gratifying to have given a new character to the work, and to have made it such as would better satisfy the wants and the tastes of the best informed among those for Whom. It is especially intended. Soon after entering upon the duties of this Office, I made strenuous efforts to have this effected, but directly found that no corn petent person would undertake such a task at so late a period.
