It is necessary here only to make a statement of the editions followed in the citations from the Latin authors. For Ennius, Vahlen' (1903) has been em ployed for Plautus, Lindsay, for Terence, Dziatzko for Lucilius, Marx, for Varro, Riese, for Lucretius, the Oxford text.
