This book is a work of fiction, however, the foundation of the story is based upon fact. In the process of our research, we found that Russian nuclear missiles were found in Cuba in 1991 and that not all of Russia's SS-20's were destroyed under the terms of the 1987 INF treaty. Operation RYAN truly existed in the early eighties and almost caused a nuclear war between American and the (former) Soviet Union following Able Archer '83. As you read this book, keep in mind that fiction must be believable, while 'real-life' has no such constraints.
