Excerpt from Proceedings of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Vol. 19: January to December, 1893The meeting was called to order at 10 O'clock by the President, Mr. Mendes Cohen.The president - The Society will please come to order in Annual Meeting. The first duty before us is the appointment Of Tellers to canvass the ballot for Officers for the election which takes place to-day.The Chair would name Messrs. H. B. Seaman, Charles IV. Gay and A M. Van Auken, who have kindly consented to serve the Society in that capacity. The ballot, by a provision Of the Constitution, will close at 12 O'clock, up to which hour any members who have not yet voted are at liberty to present their ballots. Promptly at 12 O'clock the Chair will declare the ballot closed, and then the Tellers can take the boxes and proceed to the count.The next matter will be the announcements by the Secretary, if you have any to make, sir.F. Collingwood, Secretary - I am requested by Mr. C. W. Hunt, who has had the matter in charge, to announce that the programme, as printed, will be strictly carried out, that the only possible change might be that caused by the ice in the rivers, which may necessitate the abandonment of the trip by water, but the Committee does not pro pose to attempt any change unless it is absolutely necessary.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
