From the aspects of the full-surface modification, the multi-source error modelling and compensation of gear machine tools, the precision design and manufacture of machine tools, and the optimization of hobbing and grinding processes, and etc. are necessary. In this book, deeply researches are conducted about the basic theories and methods, key technologies, and machining equipment of precision CNC machining of high-performance gears. This book is organized as follows: In Chapter 1, the research status and development trend of machining technologies and CNC machining equipment of high-performance gears are introduced. Moreover, the opportunities and challenges are also proposed. In Chapter 2, the calculation theories of the precision modification method of high-performance gears are proposed, including the envelope principle of the point vector family and the calculation of the envelope modification. In Chapter 3, the methods of reducing the machining principle errors of high-performance gears are presented, including the reducing methods of the tooth surface distortion in the machining process of modified gears and reducing principle errors of the hob relief grinding and gear shaper grinding. In Chapter 4, the modelling method of multi-source errors and the compensation technique of CNC gear machine tools is proposed, including the modelling methods of volumetric errors of machine tools, tool errors, force-induced errors, thermally-induced errors, and multi-source error compensation. In Chapter 5, the key technologies of precision CNC gear machine tools are introduced, including the core functional components, the analysis and optimization on thermal characteristics, the dry cutting hob, the functional software of the gear machining, and the applications. In Chapter 6, the optimization method of the process parameters of the hobbing and grinding is proposed. In Chapter 7, the key technologies, integration methods and applications of the green high-speed dry cutting technology and automated production line are introduced
