In this location we find that the submucous tissue which is inter posed between the mucous membrane proper and the periosteum of the turbi mated bones, and which contains the race mose mucous glands, is composed of strong bands of elastic connective tissue inter lacing with each other, thus forming meshes irregular in size and shape, which contain true venous sinuses lined with endothelium.
