Excerpt from Park's Floral Magazine, Vol. 42: April, 1906Cotton Seed. - Cotton plants are easily grown from seeds, and will bloom and fruit at the north if started early, in a window box, and transplanted to a sunny border when the weather becomes warm. There is a great difference in the varieties. Some bloom and bear much more freely than others. The improved, free-blooming sorts are much more showy as ornamental plants, as well as more profitable for field planting.
