All known Ottoman Turkish and Cagatay manuscripts in Canada are described in detail, accompanied by many colour illustrations. Of the total of over 275 manuscripts, covering a wide range of subjects, more than 200 are in the collection of Professor Eleazar Birnbaum. Many are rare and most were calligraphed between the 15th and 17th centuries.
