Breakout book: Ana Bo?icevic (pronounced bolsha shevich) is beloved in the poetry community, especially in New York. Her previous work has already gotten a great deal of attention within the small press community, as she was published with Birds LLC. She received a ?40 Under 40: The Future of Feminism? award from Feminist Press. With New Life, she is poised to garner the attention of even bigger venues and awards.International appeal: Bo?icevic moved from Zagreb, Croatia in 1997 and has been living in Brooklyn ever since. She a PEN American Center/NYSCA grant for translating Zvonko Karanovic's It Was Easy to Set the Snow on Fire (Phoneme Media, 2017). She recently published Povratak li?ca/Return of the Leaves, Selected Poems in Croatian (2020) through a Croatian press. She travels between New York and Eastern Europe a fair amount and will likely give many readings in both places.LGBTQ+: Her first book-length collection, Stars of the Night Commute (2009), was Lambda Literary Award finalist, and her second book, Rise in the Fall (2013) won a Lambda Literary Award. This book should be highlighted during Pride Month and Women's History Month.
