Fol lowed the uterus down with his hand, securing at the same time ex pression of the placenta and firm uterine contraction. The vulva was washed with cold water and dry napkins placed against it. The interior of the uterus had been mopped over with a solution of matico, and so firm contraction secured by it and constant pressure that no further hemorrhage occurred.
