Excerpt from Missouri's Forest Resource, 1989: An AnalysisMore accurate survey information was obtained during the 1989 survey than otherwise would have been feasible because of intensified field sampling. Such sampling was made possible by additional funding provided by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The Department also surveyed primary wood-using plants in the State (smith and Jones Data from this survey were used to help estimate the quantity of timber products harvested in the State.
