Dalrymple Hay's Compulsory Retirement From the British NavySir john hay has received so many letters on the subject of his retirement from the Navy, and has seen in the press so many inaccurate statements thereon, that he thinks it right to draw up the following Memorandum.Sir John Hay entered the Navy in 1835, and served continuously to 1850.
