Marital adjustment and quality of life in married couples with career

The objective of the present research was aimed to examine the significant difference in marital adjustment and quality of life among dual career married couples and single career married couples. Keeping in view the objective of the study, an empirical investigation was undertaken and thereafter data were formulated and analyzed with the help of t-test and correlation.For this purpose the sample size consisted of 100 married couples of age group between 25- newline40 years (50 dual working couples and 50 single working couples) from Delhi NCR were newlinetaken. Marital Adjustment Questionnaire (MAQ) constructed and standardized by Dr.Pramod Kumar and Dr.Kanchana Rohatgi and Quality of life Questionnaire (QOL) by Dr B.L Dubey, newlinePadma Dwivedi and S.K.Verma were used to measure the level of marital adjustment and quality of life among respondents. For statistical analysis Mean, S.D, t-test and Correlation were applied by using SPSS tool.The results demonstrated that single career couples indicated generally better adjustment in newlineaccordance with family, health, emotions, social and general adjustment than the dual career couples. Where, in the case of quality of life, it was found that dual career couples have a better lifestyle as compared to single career couples.
