Excerpt from Magneto-Hydrodynamics
In the study of turbulence without magnetic fields, useful theories have been constructed from essentially dimensional arguments, a notable suc cess being the Kolmogorov similarity theory. Similar attempts in the analysis of hydromagnetic turbulence meet with much more severe difficulties because the greater number of physical parameters which are of importance do not appear to permit unambiguous dimensional results in most cases of interest.
