But I may perhaps remind them that Marriage Licences have an interest peculiar to themselves, not only from their mention, most important though it is, of the social status of the contracting parties, but also from the fact that while baptisms and burials can be traced from Parish Registers with com parative ease, Marriages, on the contrary, from the nature of the case, have Often to be sought for far afield.
