Wesley: And One of the Founders of the Methodist New Connexion in the Year 1797, Including a Full Account of the Disputes Which Occasioned the SeparationThus favoured with ample means for arriving at the truth, respecting many occurrences connected with Me thodistical disputes prior to 1797, and their connection with Mr. Kilham and others, it is not too much for the author to assume that he has been enabled, in this vo lume, to present more correct views of the subject than had previously been given. He has spared no expense of time and labour to acquire a full knowledge of every incident which he has related, and not a single fact has been introduced, as such, without taking due care to have what was to his mind a sufficient voucher, and being thus satisfied, he should have felt it to have been a breach of trust on his part, had he not brought every thing forward which he judged necessary to give the public just ideas, both of the character and proceed ings of Mr. Kilham, and of those with whom his name and sufferings must ever be associated.
