Table 7 gives the best data in the possession of the writer with regard to the effect of poor land on the varietal factor.In the first section of Table 7 the average yield at each of the three rates is practically constant, and lower rates of planting were evidently needed in order to get the information desired. In the sec ond section, the rate gives the highest yield, but owing to the limited number of results little stress can be laid on the outcome.
