Excerpt from Introduction Outlines of the Books of the Old Testament
These Introduction Outlines were first printed a few months ago in accordance with an action of the General Synod of the Reformed Church in America, for the benefit of its students in the Theological Seminary at New Brunswick, N. J. Something of a demand has led to the publication of these Special Introduction Outlines with a slight enlargement at a few points. Still they are only Outlines, summarizing for and suggesting to the Old Testament student and reader what may be found more fully treated in the larger works referred to by the author at the close of the volume. All have not these larger works, or time to study them, while others desire something in a condensed text or reference-book form.
