This volume presents 36 papers from ten Interpreting Stratigraphy conferences held between June 1993 and February 1997. The conferences offered informal opportunities for fieldworkers interested in stratigraphic excavation, and the problems and potentialit embodied, to create a context for discussions with like-minded people.
