Inspirational Memories and Poems

Angebote / Angebote:

This inspirational book of memories and poems tells the story of the struggles of Vada Caldwell's parents in raising four children and providing for a family of six. "In the eyes of the world we were poor people, " said Vada Caldwell, "with few possessions. In reality my parents gave us a life of plenty. Plenty of understanding and love, and above all, plenty of appreciation for one another. They taught us to be honest and trustworthy and to always be people of faith, believing and trusting in our blessed Lord. My mother and father were the most wonderful parents and heartwarming people of God. We were greatly blessed. This book is a tribute to my parents and family… an outpouring of a lifetime of love and gratefulness, expressed through deep emotion and the poetry given me by God for this very purpose."ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Vada Henson Caldwell, the youngest of four children, was born May 21, 1928 in Roger Springs, TN. The family moved to Memphis in 1943 where she graduated from High School two years later. Vada married Tommy Caldwell in 1946. Soon thereafter, her husband joined the US Air Force, and they move to San Antonio, Texas, where Tommy was initially stationed. During their time in San Antonio, Vada gave birth to two daughters and one son. They returned to Memphis in 1952. After 20 years of working and saving, they built a home in Millington, TN. Both Vada and Tommy had fulfilling life-long careers before eventually retiring. Death took her husband Tommy in 2009, and her youngest daughter Cathy in 2012. Vada still resides in the home she and Tommy built, surrounded by her two children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Vada daily gives thanks for God's many blessings.
