Excerpt from Infant Mortality in New York City: A Study of the Results Accomplished by Infant-Life Saving Agencies, 1885-1920The details upon which this report is based were collected in 1915 and 1916 for the imme diate purposes of the International Health Board. Typewritten copies of the study were, however, made available to interested persons on request. Since then there has been a growing demand that the report be published. It was finally decided to do this after the Department of Health Of New York City had given its ready consent. All important tables and graphs have been brought up to date. The text, however, as will be noted, deals with the material which was in hand when the study was closed in 1916. There have been no developments since that time in the field of infant care in New York City Of such importance as to call for modification of the general conclusions arrived at in 1916.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
