Leander Sylvester Keyser (1856-1937) was an American writer born in Tuscarawas County, Ohio, best remembered for his books and articles on birds, but who also as a Doctor of Divinity and at one time Professor of Ethics, Theism and Christian Evidence in Wittenberg College, Springfield, Ohio, published a number of theological works. This collection of bird-related articles which had previously appeared in various periodicals was first published in book form in 1894.
